Swagat Fine Indian Cuisine What a fabulous experience! I’ve enjoyed Indian cuisine all around the world, and Swagat ranks among the very best I’ve had. I ordered the Mango Curry with Chicken and Garlic Cheese Naan—both were absolutely top-notch. The service was attentive and friendly, and the portions were generous. Perhaps the most outstanding feature of Swagat is the ambiance. Many Indian restaurants are known for their food but not necessarily their decor; Swagat excels at both. The dining areas are elegant—perfect for either a nice evening out or a relaxed casual meal. You owe it to yourself to dine here!
Swagat is Indian term for “welcome” and I felt welcomed upon walking in the door for lunch in the middle of the week. I’ve never given authentic Indian food a real go and I was feeling a little adventurous when I saw the sign while exiting the highway. The rich smells of herbs and spices grab you as you enter inside and I felt excited to see what was in store. As we were immediately seated, we passed by the vivid multicolored buffet and I felt excited pretty quickly. I was able to sample each thing on the buffet, and I found value and quality in almost each one. The meats were tender and flavorful, the sauces were light and complimentary to the food selections. Fried choices were crispy and delicious but didn’t weigh down my appetite. I found this to be a great way to get your veggies in, as I was just as excited to eat those as the meat selections. The fruit available was fresh, the coconut soup was delightful. I would also be remiss not to mention the rice pudding, which was great. I find it necessary to mention that all walks of life were there during the day; suit and tied gentlemen, folks in casual wear, even the FedEx guy was there on his lunch break. I believe this to be a testament to its quality because food is the great equalizer. Our service was thorough and prompt. Above average pricing for the lunch buffet, but the value was extremely apparent. I would definitely return here, I need some more of that fresh naan bread in my life.
Tried the lunch buffet for the first time! It was really enjoyable and my favorite dish was the goat curry! The tikka masala was on the sweeter side but still enjoyable. Definitely very enjoyable!
Food was amazing. They don’t have that many varieties but what ever they have is good. Tea was well made.
The service was phenomenal. Our waiter checked our IDs and did some math on our birthdays to tell us what planet we are ruled by and gave wisdom to us based on that. The food was extremely flavorful and the rice is so good I wish I could make it at home like that. It was my boyfriend’s first time trying Indian food so he didn’t know that Indian spice level is a lot higher than what we are used to. When he ordered medium spice and was sweating, our waiter brought us a cream sauce to help with the heat level, and it really helped. Waiters are kind and full of wisdom. It’s rare you get genuine service like that anymore. Thank you guys for making my boyfriends first experience with Indian food amazing!
My wife and I tried Swagat this evening for the first time. We both love Indian food, but have never been here. This has been our favorite Indian restaurant ever! The food was amazing, the service was PHENOMENAL, and every worker was incredibly kind and helpful. I got the spicy butter Masala, and my wife got the Mango chicken. We shared an order of garlic cheese naan, as well as getting the vegetable samosas. The food was absolutely incredibly, I ate every bite. I also bought a “Taj Mahal” beer. I’m not a huge beer person, but wanted to try an imported Indian beer. It was also delicious! I would honestly rate Swagat higher if I could. Couldn’t recommend it enough!
Macc provided excellent service and readily answered questions about menu items. The dishes were very tasty and offered various levels of heat to accommodate people's spiciness desires. Portions were good sized and the Roti and Naan were warm and flavorful.
Best Indian food I’ve had. Four of us had different dishes with different heat levels. And they were perfect for each. The spices were nicely balanced and all deliciously unique. The servers were friendly and helpful. The decor is attractive and comfortable slightly industrial chic. In winter I would suggest they create an entryway to block cold breezes from the door. But it was summer and lovely.
